IIIrd Level

FDM Advance Practitioner

The third level of education at GFDMO is available to therapists who meet the requirements set by the Scientific Council:

– The Level 1 Final Exam

– The Level 2 Final Exam

– additional 150 hours of basic FDM training (e.g. 3 x FDM Intensive)

– additional 150 hours of FDM development training (e.g. 2x Orthopedics, 1x Lymphology, 4 x Manipulations)

– assistantship in at least 3 FDM courses

The final level 3 exam takes place in front of an international body of instructors. It includes a thesis exam, a written and practical exam. A positive result of the final examination gives the physiotherapist the right to use the FDM Advance Practitioner title and the right to take assistantship to become an international FDM instructor.

FDM Title

The second level of education lasts a total of 15 training days and includes 5 modules. The GFDMO Scientific Council decided that in order to obtain the FDM Certified Practitioner title, there is a requirement to participate in three freely chosen modules and also to write a thesis in a research paper form.

 FDM Ortopedia/Sport - 4 dni

FDM Lymphology (ZNDT) – 4 days

 FDM Children – 3 days

 FDM Manipulation – 2 days

 FDM Taping – 2 days

FDM – HCC (Horse care concept)

The thesis is to relate to the FDM model, consist of ca. 5,000 - 10,000 words and address one of the following areas:

– Case study ("single case study", "case report", case examples)

– systematic literature review

– pilot clinical trial

– developing the basics

– literature review with a historical outline, etc.

After 3 months of practice, the FDM therapists who are interested in further development have the opportunity to participate in the third level courses (the 3-month period is a GFDMO recommendation).

Ist Level

FDM Practitioner

The first level of education at GFDMO includes two programs designed for therapists with different levels of advancement in manual therapy.

The education program at GFDMO for beginning physiotherapists consists of 5 modules:

 FDM1 Upper limb – 3 days

FDM2 Lower limb – 3 days

FDM3 Spine – 3 days

FDM4 Folding Distortion Manipulation – 2 days

FDM5 Cervical and cranial spine – 3 days

The program for physiotherapists with extensive experience in manual therapy consists of 3 intensive training modules. At this level, during the courses, instructors do not cover basic issues related to, for example, tissue sensation or functional anatomy.

 FDM1 Intensive – 6 days

Or in the modular system: FDM1’ Intensive module I – 3 days, FDM1’ Intensive module II – 3 days.

FDM2 Folding distortion manipulation– 2 days

FDM3 Cervical and cranial spine – 3 daysi

The first level ends with a theoretical and practical exam. A positive result of the exam entitles you to receive a certificate and to be entered on the international list of FDM therapists with the FDM PRACTITIONER title.

After 3 months of practical use of the knowledge from FDM intensive 1, 2, 3 or FDM 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 courses, the FDM therapists who are interested in further development have the opportunity to participate in second-level courses (the 3-month period is a GFDMO recommendation).

‘Think with the FDM model and make sure that it reaches all the people in the world who need it, because thanks to it you can change both your and your patients' lives for the better.’
